Web Design
Usability. I strive for accessibility, usability, and design simplicity. I am conscientious of color schemes, logical navigation, valid code, ethical search engine optimization, load time/page size, and compatibility across browsers and screen sizes. I stay away from animation, unnecessary Flash, and "splash" pages.
Standards. I use as few lines of code as possible to accomplish my objectives. I've been designing for the web strictly with text applications (such as EditPad and Notepad) since 2000. I am well-versed in XHTML and CSS. I have intermediate knowledge of PHP, ColdFusion, and JavaScript and have built interactive, dynamic sites. I segregate style from content as much as possible; I shy away from inline styles and deprecated HTML elements.
Customization. I pride myself on personalized service to fit the client; I will never limit my clients to, for instance, a set number of pages, or a set number of images per page. As businesses are unique, their sites shouldn't have to conform to a designer's template. My preferences lean toward non-profit and service-oriented web sites.
I have very competitive rates. Send me a message for further information or to set up an appointment.
